You can emulate 3DS using Citra and PS2 using PCSX2. The 3ds version, visually, is also almost comparable to ps2 when not at a terrible 3DS resolution. If you want the original grind and challenge as well as random battles, smoother visuals, a better soundtrack, for Jessica to have a good english dub, and a more compact post game, play the ps2 version.
